Art insurance

Your personal collection

One of Doman O. Obrist’s favourite artists is David De Coninck (1636-1701) from Belgium. The painting on the left - "Still life with a peacock and monkey in a wooded landscape” was sold at auction for an estimated £50,000 - £70,000. Some paintings cost less, others considerably more. Along with paintings by famous artists, art that you might have purchased in, say, Asia, can of course also be insured. Sculptures and other artistic objects can also be insured.

Insurance

It is almost essential to insure a painting. If the painting is lost or damaged, the sentimental loss is bad enough. The damage should at least be covered financially. Your painting will be insured against external impacts. This means that the artwork is insured if someone steals it or if you damage it yourself. The market value is insured in each case. It applies during transport as well and regardless of the location.
